Virtual Consultation Platform by Shoura & VSee Revolutionizing Qatar's COVID-19 Response

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the crucial role of telemedicine in ensuring uninterrupted healthcare delivery. In Qatar, Shoura Business Group, the exclusive provider of VSee, has been at the forefront of this transformation. Initially, Shoura was set to implement a proof of concept with TASMU over a year ago in select clinics. However, the onset of COVID-19 accelerated this timeline, leading to a nationwide rollout of the Virtual Consultation Platform. Remarkably, the first clinics went live just two weeks after the project kickoff, rapidly scaling up to address the urgent healthcare needs of the pandemic.
As part of the TASMU initiative by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the Virtual Consultation Platform has become a vital tool for healthcare providers. Shoura Business Group’s deployment of VSee has been instrumental in scaling telemedicine services across Qatar.
Several key institutions have notably benefited from this technology across MOPH, HMC, PHCC & Sidra. The Mental Health Hospital, Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, Rumailah Hospital, and the Heart Hospital have all integrated VSee into their operations, ensuring continuity of care during the pandemic. VSee enabled these facilities to conduct remote consultations, therapy sessions, and specialist care, particularly crucial for geriatric and chronic condition patients.
Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) established a contact center of doctors utilizing VSee to extend video consultations to patients in need, enhancing accessibility and care continuity. Sidra Medicine also embraced virtual consultations, offering phone and video appointments for many outpatient services.
The successful implementation of VSee across 320 clinics affiliated with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), PHCC, and Sidra Medicine, providing access to over 9,000 users, underscores the platform’s effectiveness in supporting healthcare delivery during a critical time. Shoura Business Group’s role as the exclusive VSee provider in Qatar highlights its commitment to advancing healthcare technology and improving patient care amidst the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
